What car alarm do you recommend for my car?

I have Ford Focus 2001 ZX3, and I want to buy a car alarm; however, I do now anything about them. I would like to know how much should I spent. I want something that will add security without going really cheap or really fancy. Right now I just have the key less entry remote. Thank you for your help.

They are all a pain in the butt.
I wouldn’t get one at all.
Unless you enjoy being awakened at 4AM by a cat on your roof.

you should probably get a starter kill, if you want the extra security, just make sure it is installed by an expert, and make sure it’s a brand name alarm

if its a good alarm, it should have settings on how sensible to be, so you can adjust it not to go off if the wind blows, etc.

i think you would spend $150 to $250 for a good alarm

beware that if you shop around enough, you will find places that offer alarms including installation for like 50 or 70 bucks… those are cheap and are not worth it! a decent Viper alarm costs $100 to $150 only for the unit, plus installation

try asking here the following “2001 Ford Focus ZX3 owners: what kind of alarm do you have installed?” This will get the owners of the same type car to answer your question. You can add detailes asking if they are happy with it or not.

I think you should save your money. If the alarm goes off, you won’t hear it and others are so used to hearing alarms that someone could be stealing the alarm itself and they wouldn’t notice.

If you want to add security, get a big dog.
