I just got a remote start system for my Scion TC 08 and I want the air conditioning left on when I turn it off so I can remote start the car and have it cool the car down... I heard its bad to have the A/C on when turning the car off or back on..? Thanks
I dont know why its bad, but my dad allways remind me to turn off the A/C before shut down the car,
I cannot imagine how the AC would impact anything at all. Go nuts, and try leaving the window cracked, it’ll help immensely. You can even get little solar powered fans that fit into the window *****.
No problem whatsoever
keep cool
The a/c should be turned off several minutes before the car is shut off, but the fan left running. You kinow that musty smell you sometimes get in air conditioned cars? The moisture left in the vents turns to mold. Running the fan after a/c is off dries the moisture and prevents the formation of the mold. I am surprised so many people that reply to these threads totally miss this issue.
Air conditioning duct systems can be virtual incubators for microbial pollutants such as mold and bacteria. With the alternating high and low humidity conditions which regularly occur in air conditioning ducts during air conditioner operation, molds will grow, spread, produce spores and distribute the spores. Mold contamination in air conditioning poses a serious problem.
It has the potential to make you just as sick as toxic mold in your house, which can get a house condemned if left too long. If you want to turn the a/c switch on so the a/c starts with your remote starter, that is fine as long as you don’t waste more than a couple of minutes of fuel, but don’t leave a/c on when shutting off the car. The drain doesn’t clear moisture from the vents, by the way, it can’t.
ive had a ranger that i run the a/c year round fla dont ya know
and never shut it off also no musty smell the trucks a 1995
as long as the condenser drain is clear moisture should not accumulate
any extra load on the starter is always bad
