Spend the money. If you don’t know what you are doing and start cutting ignition wires, with today’s transponder keys and disabler systems. $475 will seem like a bargain. Shop around, you should be able to find a system for $300 installed.

Remote start system aren’t that hard to fit, I have installed them on a few vehicles without problems, as long as you follow the directions carefully you should be fine, pay special attention to the neutral sense wiring, and make sure that the connection to the voltage sense wire is as close to the battery as you can get it and you should be fine. Please remember though that on an ’06 you WILL need an immobilizer bypass module as you will need to hook the bypass module to the sensor ring round the ignition switch.
