What went wrong with my Pursuit car alarm/remote start system?

I had a pursuit alarm/remote start system put on my 2006 Jeep Commander two days ago. The mechanic told me about a "pit stop" feature that the remote start had, and demonstrated it. Basically, if you stop at a gas station and want to leave your car running while you run in, you hit the remote start button twice and remove your keys. The car stays running. Then upon returning, you just put the keys back in the ignition, turn it to "on", and drive away. It sounded pretty convenient so I tried it. Twenty minutes later as I was driving on the expressway, the remote chirped, the engine died, and the steering wheel locked, WHILE I WAS DRIVING! Also, the information panel said "Programming Active" and a red light was flashing next to it. What happened? Obviously, the remote start timer didn't disengage when I replaced the keys in the ignition, but why did that happen? Should I continue to use this "pit stop" feature anymore?

My remote car starter will get the engine to turn over but not start, any suggestions?

I drive a 2004 Sunfire, the remote will unlock my doors as well as attempt to start the car; the engine turns over fine but then the car shuts itself off. If the key is in the ignition and I press the remote start button the engine will start. Anyone have any ideas it seems like a pretty simple problem, I checked to make sure the switch under the steering column is on.

it doesnt work when i dont remote start my car but it does work when i dont remote start my car. its not the valet switch under the dash.

for example, ifi remote start my car, i cant unlock it when i get up to it. so i have to unlock it, then start it.
it only happened after i got my car painted and i think they had to disconnect the battery.

What kind of car alarm is best?

Yesterday I had my my truck keyhole popped and someone tried to steal it. But instead they just took my GPS unit. I couldn't believe it. Now I'm thinking of shaving my doors and putting an alarm on. Which alarm would be best or does anyone know if a shaved door kit would be good to have, other than breaking the window can someone get it?

Can a car remote start system mess up your car?

I have had a car remote start system for over 2 years now. Lately, when I turn it on, it starts half way and then turns off. Seconds later, however, it starts up fine. Sometimes on the third time but no more. I just wanted to know if there is any chance my car can get messed up since it starts half way and then shuts off. I have a 1999 subaru legacy gt limited edition 2.5. thanks

Will a remote start work on a manual shifted car?

I want to get a remote start for my car that has a standard transmission. I know it works for cars with automatic shift but do they make remote starts for standard transmission.
